FROM BRUNSWICK AND NOVA SCOTIA

The most direct route coming from locations in New Brunswick, CA, is to take Canadian Highway 2 West from Fredericton over to U.S. Interstate I-95 down to Bangor. Then take Hwy 1A South from Bangor to Hampden, Frankfort, and Stockton Springs. Here it joins Hwy 1 to Belfast and onto to Lincolnville.

If you are coming from Nova Scotia, you can take the ferry from Digby NS over to St. John's and then Hwy 7 up to Canada 2 to Fredericton. For a more scenic route from New Brunswick, you can crossover into the U.S. at Calais and follow coast Hwy 1 down through Machias to Bucksport ME (passing by Bar Harbor and Frenchman's Bay), on to Stockton Springs, Belfast, and into Lincolnville.

Coming from Nova Scotia, there is also the ferry from Yarmouth NS to Bar Harbor. Take the Bar Harbor Rd (via Hwy 3) from the island to join coast Hwy 1 around Ellsworth and onto Bucksport as above.
